YBhg. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, one of Asia’s most renowned entrepreneurs, co-founded AirAsia with Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, transforming it from a struggling airline into Asia’s largest low-cost carrier. They acquired it for MYR1 and MYR40 million in debt, turning it around in two years.

A UK-trained accountant, Tan Sri Tony began his career with Virgin Group before leading Warner Music SEA and later revolutionizing air travel. His achievements earned him prestigious honors, including the CBE from Queen Elizabeth II and the Legion d’Honneur from France.
