A renowned Malaysian social activist and former politician, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye served as Member of Parliament (1974–1990) and State Assemblyman (1969–1974, 1978–1982) before retiring in 1990. He held key leadership roles in various government and non-government organizations, including Chairman of NIOSH (1994–2019).
Currently, he serves as Senior Vice Chairman of MCPF, Chairman of Eco World Foundation, YSS, and OUM, among others. He has received multiple royal honors and six honorary doctorates. In 2019, he was awarded the Maulidur Rasul Award, the 16th non-Muslim recipient since 2000.
